Taft Adds Five Attorneys in Indianapolis

Taft is pleased to welcome five attorneys to the firm’s Indianapolis office.

Claire E. Burdick focuses her practice on all aspects of business law. Prior to joining Taft, Burdick gained extensive business experience working as a public finance intern for Stifel Financial Corp. and as a tax intern for Deloitte. She also gained valuable experience as a legal intern for the Indiana Department of Transportation. Burdick earned her J.D., magna cum laude, and a Corporate and Commercial Law Certificate from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. She earned her B.A. in political science from Northwestern University.

Lorenzo R. Murillo focuses his practice on real estate law. Prior to joining Taft, Murillo worked as a judicial extern for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. He earned his J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and his B.A. in political science from Indiana University.

Jack H. Robinson focuses his practice on all aspects of business law. Prior to joining Taft, Robinson worked as a summer clerk in the Office of the Solicitor General of Indiana where he played a key role in drafting briefs and preparing arguments for litigation at various District Courts, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Additionally, Robinson was a summer clerk to the Chief Legal Officer of the Indianapolis Colts. Robinson earned his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School, graduating cum laude, and his B.A. in political science from Indiana University, graduating with highest distinction.

Thomas B. Sokolowski focuses his practice on environmental law, including environmental regulation, compliance, permitting, litigation, and real estate due diligence. Prior to joining Taft, Sokolowski gained extensive legal experience through multiple legal and judicial externships at the state and federal levels. Most recently, he worked as a judicial extern to the Hon. James P. Hanlon, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. During law school, Sokolowski worked as a legal intern for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and as a judicial extern to the Hon. Kurt M. Eisgruber, Marion Superior Court, Civil Division, and the Hon. Jennifer P. Harrison, Marion Superior Court, Criminal Division. He earned his J.D, magna cum laude, and Graduate Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

Brittni C. Wassmer focuses her practice on commercial litigation. Prior to joining Taft, Wassmer was a law clerk to the Hon. Chief Justice Loretta Rush, Indiana Supreme Court, where she prepared bench memoranda for oral arguments and drafted and edited opinions. Wassmer earned her J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
