Franklin College Celebrates Most Successful Day of Giving Campaign Ever

Franklin College students, employees, alumni, trustees, friends of the college and corporate sponsors joined in the spirit of philanthropy during the college’s eleventh annual giving day, #GivetoGRIZ, on Wednesday, April 12. The result was the most successful one-day giving event ever for the college.

The college raised a total of $308,584, surpassing the goal of $225,000. The total number of donors for the day was 1,157, surpassing the goal of 1,000.

“The outpouring of support during #GivetoGRIZ is a resounding vote of confidence in the work and future of Franklin College,” said Kerry N. Prather, Franklin College president. “Donor support is critical to continuing our exciting momentum and sustaining our mission for generations to come.”

“Our eleventh annual #GivetoGRIZ 24-hour giving challenge was the most successful to date, thanks to the generosity of the many donors who supported Franklin College,” said Dana Cummings, vice president for institutional advancement. “We are immensely grateful to each and every donor whose generosity provides for progress in teaching, learning, collaborating and innovating on campus every day.”

The money raised during this one-day giving event goes to the Franklin Fund to provide support for students. Nearly 100 percent of Franklin College students receive some form of financial aid, many of whom would not otherwise be able to afford a college education.

Elwood Staffing and RepuCare were major sponsors of the campaign.

The one-day giving challenge began in 2013, raising a total of $14,500 from 137 donors and earning the Division of Institutional Advancement a Silver Award in their district from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). Each year, both the number of donors as well as the total monetary donations have steadily increased.

While the one-day giving challenge is over for the year, those wishing to donate to the college’s Franklin Fund during this current fiscal year still have until June 30. To give online, visit franklincollege.edu/give or call (317) 738-8040.
