INDIANAPOLIS (October 13, 2026). The Indy Chamber’s Business Advocacy Committee (BAC) today announced its endorsed candidates for the 2026 General Election, supporting candidates for the Indiana General Assembly who demonstrate a commitment to advancing a competitive economy and strengthening communities across the Indianapolis region.
The BAC is a nonpartisan political action committee composed of business and community leaders from across the Indy region. Through candidate engagement and endorsements, the committee works to support leaders who understand the priorities of the regional business community and are prepared to collaborate on policies that promote economic growth, talent development and quality of life.
“Strong public policy is built through strong relationships, thoughtful dialogue and a willingness to work across differences,” said Taylor Hughes, Chief Strategy Officer, Chief of Staff. “We deeply value the legislators and public officials who work alongside the business community to address the challenges and opportunities facing our region. These endorsements reflect our commitment to supporting candidates who are willing to engage, collaborate and lead.”
The BAC evaluates candidates through candidate questionnaires, interviews, and voting records to determine policy alignment with the Chamber’s priorities. All endorsement decisions are made by the BAC Board. The committee’s work is nonpartisan and focused on issues affecting businesses, employers, talent and the long-term economic competitiveness of Central Indiana.

The Chamber’s engagement in the political process extends beyond elections. Throughout the year, the Indy Chamber works with policymakers from both parties on issues affecting businesses and residents throughout the Indianapolis region, while providing opportunities for Chamber members to engage directly in advocacy and help shape the region’s policy priorities.
“Business leaders have an important perspective to bring to the policymaking process,” Susan Preble, Vice President of State Government Affairs, added. “BAC gives our members another way to participate in that conversation and support public leaders who share a commitment to a stronger, more prosperous Indy region.”
