Dr. Cameual Wright Named to Indiana Health Fund Board

Indiana Health Fund (IHF) announced today the appointment of Dr. Cameual “Camie” Wright to its Board of Directors. The distinguished healthcare leader, clinical business strategist and community leader joined the board on Oct. 17, 2022.

Dr. Wright is an executive at CareSource, the nationally recognized nonprofit health plan, in Indianapolis where she serves as Vice President and Market Chief Medical Officer. In this important role, she acts as the clinical liaison to state agencies and internal and external stakeholders for CareSource. Her duties include the development, implementation and revision of clinical care standards and practice guidelines ensuring compliance with nationally accepted quality standards.

Prior to her CareSource position, Dr. Wright was an obstetrician-gynecologist and physician leader at Riverview Heath in Noblesville, Indiana. She has earned BS and MD degrees from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Indiana University.

“We are thrilled to add Dr. Wright to our board,” said Drs. Jeffrey and Leigh Meltzer, founders of the Indiana Health Fund. “Her qualifications are impeccable, and her voice will be important to the management of our organization and our goal of preventing crippling medical expenses.”

“The challenges of facing critical illness and injury are compounded by insurmountable medical debt for many Americans,” said Dr. Wright. “As a physician, I have witnessed the devastating effects this debt can have on patients’ futures. I am excited to be part of an organization that is providing solutions to help people understand their rights and ultimately avoid the significant long-term financial consequences of receiving health care.”

Dr. Wright also serves on the boards of the American Diabetes Association, the American Red Cross, and the Indiana Health Information Exchange.

The Indiana Health Fund was established to help prevent medical expenses, including healthcare bills, from causing financial hardship or even medical bankruptcy to individuals and families throughout Indiana. Indiana Health Fund is a 501c3 tax exempt organization. For more information about Indiana Health Fund’s work, please visit indianahealthfund.org.
