Talent continues to be a priority for business across the Indy region, and Indy Partnership is currently overseeing a Regional Skills Analysis. This first-of-its-kind analysis will provide critical insights into our regional talent opportunities, gaps, and resources needed to reskill and skill up.
The Regional Skills Analysis identifies the core competencies and skills for employers and institutions to understand the in-demand skills that align with the local labor market in growth industries.
Indiana has the highest share of manufacturing employment in the United States. Supporting nearly 16,000 jobs, representing 8% of jobs in the region.
Agribusiness has historically been a significant economic driver of Indy’s economy, and it supports over 19,000 jobs. The agribusiness industry in Indy has grown 10% in five years and it is projected to continue to grow.
Companies in the Information Technology (IT) sector employ over 23,000 people in Indy. The IT sector is projected to grow even faster over the next five years.
