Join the Indy Chamber Advocacy team as we discuss the anticipated hot-button issues facing our regional business community at our next Pastries & Politics, presented by First Financial Bank!

Population and workforce health are crucial for economic growth in Indiana, ensuring residents' access to opportunities and fostering a healthy, productive workforce. Tobacco use remains a major contributor to chronic health issues among Hoosiers and a significant barrier to improving overall public health. Reducing tobacco and vaping through measures like a tobacco tax would save lives, lower healthcare costs, and bring about substantial economic benefits, including job creation, increased incomes, and population growth.

On July 24, join us at the Columbia Club for a panel discussion on raising the tobacco tax in Indiana to disincentivize tobacco use and promote greater health for our state's talent and economy. Meet our expert panelists:

  • Rep. Brad Barrett, Chairman of House Public Health
  • Paula Pape, Wellness Coordinator, Concentra Onsite at Allison Transmission
  • Jennifer Pferrer, Executive Director, Wellness Council of Indiana
