Indianapolis, Indiana
Fact Sheet

Downtown Indianapolis is the urban core and largest employment sector in the Indy region. There, the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument rises 284 feet high above Monument Circle and its observation level offers incredible views of the entire city.

At night, strings of lights illuminate tall trees along the Mile Square, and horse-drawn carriages create a special environment during all four seasons.

During the day, the area bustles with industry and commerce—its historic buildings and skyscrapers providing space for both large enterprises and entrepreneurial start-ups. A walkable downtown, light traffic, and modern amenities make even the heart of the city surprisingly livable.

Diverse housing options cater to every lifestyle. Historic apartment buildings stand tall beside modern high rises, and chic townhouses beside newly renovated multi-family homes. There have been 7,000+ units constructed downtown during the past decade, providing an array of market rate and executive level multi-family housing with numerous amenities available.

Some of our oldest neighborhoods sit next to brand new apartments and condominiums in downtown Indy. Nearly 120 neighborhoods claim their space in the 400 square miles of Marion County/Indianapolis. These neighborhoods are diverse and provide a variety of options for individuals and families, including access to schools and greenways.
