Local Businesses to Expand Global Exports with Indy Partnership “GoGlobal” Grants

B2S Life Sciences, Cork Medical Products and Frontier Paper & Packaging recognized
at the 2018 World Trade Day Summit

Indianapolis – To help businesses in the Indy region continue succeeding in the global marketplace, the Indy Partnership, a business unit of the Indy Chamber, presented three GoGlobal Export Acceleration Grants at the April 10 World Trade Day Summit in Indianapolis to add to the Indy Partnership’s robust international program leading local trade and investment.

B2S Life Sciences, Cork Medical Products and Frontier Paper & Packaging each received up to $5,000 in matching GoGlobal grant funds. Supported by JPMorgan Chase, GoGlobal grants help mid-market companies launch or expand export efforts with competitively awarded matching funds. More than $75,000 in GoGlobal grants have been awarded to 16 companies since the program launched in 2016.

“Our goal with GoGlobal grants is to equip and encourage small to mid-size businesses to explore international trade opportunities, further highlighting the Indy Region as a major player in the global economy,” said Maureen Krauss, chief economic development officer for the Indy Partnership.

“More than 90 percent of businesses in the Indy region aren’t exporters, including most manufacturers and small to mid-sized firms. The Indianapolis area has a long-standing export relationship with many international regions, and our goal for these grants is to help additional companies tap into this economic opportunity,” said Jennifer Pearl, the Indy Chamber’s director of international programs.

B2S Life Sciences is a supplier of bioanalytical and diagnostic assay kits to the industrial market; Cork Medical Products is a medical device manufacturer that specializes in products for the prevention and treatment of wounds; and Frontier Paper & Packaging is an industrial supplier of packaging materials, equipment and services. They join the 16 other GoGlobal winners.
GoGlobal grant funds help reimburse a variety of business expenses, including technical assistance, global market research, industry conferences, participation in economic trade missions and more.

  • B2S Life Sciences will participate in the Purdue University ExporTech program and the BIO International convention.
  • Cork Medical Products will participate in the European Wound Management Association trade show, apply for Mexican regulatory registration and participate in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Gold Key program.
  • Frontier Paper & Packaging will participate in Purdue University’s ExporTech program, plus the Temperature Control and Asembia trade shows.

With a vision to put the Indy Region on a map as a city for global business, the Indy Partnership fosters an ecosystem that supports global business by convening partners from around the Indy Region, increasing exports from our small and medium sized local businesses, identifying and supporting foreign direct investment for our region, and raising the region’s profile by telling our global story and highlighting opportunities for international engagement.

The next round of applications is being accepted for GoGlobal Export Acceleration Grants. Companies can download guidelines and apply online. The deadline for applications is April 20. GoGlobal Grant funds are applicable for activities during May and June 2018. All funds must be disbursed by early July 2018.
