American Pianists Association’s 2015 Jazz Finals

In this new production by WFYI, five talented jazz pianists take to the stage in the finals of the 2015 American Pianists Association's Jazz Fellowship Awards, which took place in Indianapolis earlier this year.

Thursday, September 3 at 9 p.m. on WFYI 1

Leading up to this culminating event, young American pianists, ages 18 to 30, participated in a seven-month-long competition in hopes of receiving a Fellowship from the American Pianists Association. Now, in this two hour program filmed at Hilbert Circle Theatre, viewers will watch the inspiring final performances of all five contestants and learn who will launch his career by being named the Cole Porter Fellow in Jazz of the American Pianists Association.
