The Kelley School of Business is offering area companies an opportunity to work with and benefit from graduate students at their Bloomington campus. This spring, interested businessesand non-profits may be paired with 1st-year MBA students to assist on various types of projects. These projects should have at least some financial component, but they may also touch on areas such as strategy, marketing, operations, and other aspects of business. Previous projects ranged from working with local community non-profits to major corporations including Intel and Whirlpool.
Each project sponsor will be assigned a team of 3-6 MBA students. Students spend 8-10 hours per week (per student) on the project, starting roughly in late-February and continuing through late-April. The exact starting and ending dates are flexible to meet the needs of the client. Teams meet regularly with their client and with Scott Smart, a Kelly School finance professor and Associate Chair of the Full-time MBA program, to meet intermediate deadlines and to ensure that progress is made toward the project’s final objective.
Interested businesses and other organizations can learn more by contacting Scott Smart, Associate Chair, Full-time MBA Program, at [email protected], or at 812-606-4254.
