(INDIANAPOLIS – February 24th, 2022) - The International Center welcomes a new member to its leadership team. As Vice President of Development and External Affairs, Svitlana Ramer, PhD will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing and development strategies to enhance and sustain The Center’s mission. Dr. Ramer will also be responsible for building new relations for messaging and philanthropic initiatives to raise awareness and impact of The International Center.
Dr. Ramer joins The International Center with over fourteen years of experience in program development and delivery across higher education, private businesses, and local governments with focus on cross-cultural competencies. She received her PhD in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management from Pennsylvania State University, and has in-depth training and research expertise in human behavior, sustainability, community building, acculturation, diversity, and event planning/management.
A native of Ukraine, Dr. Ramer is a global citizen with education and experience spanning Eastern Europe, Germany, Australia, and the United States. Most recently, Dr. Ramer served as the Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator of Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation. She has also advocated for the international community as a college professor with research focus in transnationalism, by designing culture curricula for afterschool programs in Texas, and through creating exchange programs for European geography students- to name a few.
