Helping Children with Autism Thrive in Indianapolis: How UNIFI Autism Care Is Building an Integrated, Collaborative Model of Care

Best Practice Article by: UNIFI Autism Care

Families in Indianapolis are fortunate to have several options when it comes to autism services. But having choices doesn’t always mean getting comprehensive care. Too often, families must coordinate between multiple providers on their own — managing therapy, medical care, diagnostic services, and school support as separate pieces of a complex puzzle.

At UNIFI Autism Care, we believe families deserve better. That’s why we’re creating a new model of care in Indianapolis— one that is integrated, collaborative, and designed to support the families of children with autism from 18 months to 18 years. Our goal is simple: to provide every family with a seamless, high-quality care experience that supports the whole child and empowers the entire family.

Going Beyond Traditional Autism Therapy

What makes UNIFI unique is not just what we do, but how we do it. Rather than delivering therapy in isolation, our team of clinicians partners closely with other healthcare professionals—including pediatricians, psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and school teams—to ensure care is coordinated and aligned.

This integrated approach means families don’t have to act as the “go-between” for their child’s providers. Instead, they benefit from a team that communicates, collaborates, and works together to achieve shared goals.

The result?

  • Consistent progress and smoother transitions between services
  • Less stress for parents managing multiple providers
  • Better outcomes for children and families

Supporting the Whole Family, Not Just the Diagnosis

We understand that autism affects more than just the child receiving services — it impacts the entire family. That’s why UNIFI’s programs are designed to address a wide range of needs under one roof. Our services include:

  • Collaborative care planning – Coordinated communication with your child’s healthcare and educational teams, ensuring that your child’s autism therapy goals align with medical, developmental, and academic plans.
  • Parent and caregiver coaching – Practical strategies and support to help families feel confident in supporting their child at home and in the community with our LifeFIT (Family Interaction Therapy) program. This program provides families with hands-on tools for success.
  • Diagnostic evaluations – Faster access to diagnostic services so families can begin intervention as soon as possible.

This holistic model is designed to meet families where they are — and support them every step of the way.

Building a Connected Community of Care

True progress happens when providers collaborate — and that collaboration is at the heart of UNIFI’s mission. We are actively building partnerships across Indianapolis with healthcare providers, schools, and community organizations to create a seamless network of support for families.

By sharing information, coordinating care, and aligning on treatment goals, we help eliminate the silos that too often slow down progress. Our goal is simple: to make navigating autism services less stressful and more effective for every family we serve.

Take the Next Step

Indianapolis families deserve care that is connected, comprehensive, and collaborative. At UNIFI Autism Care, we’re proud to be raising the standard by building a model that brings the entire care team together around one shared goal: helping children ages 18 months to 18 years with autism thrive.

If you’re a parent, healthcare professional, or community leader passionate about improving autism support in Indianapolis, we invite you to connect with us and be part of this movement.
