Fehribach Center Empowers Students with Disabilities Through Paid Internships

The Gregory S. Fehribach Center, headquartered at Eskenazi Health, facilitates internships for college students with physical disabilities (mobility, orthopedic, visual, & hearing) in which students are placed in a paid internship that correlates with their academic major.  To this point, 228 students from 42 colleges have completed a total of 475 internships, with 65 students interning in the summer of 2024. Internships are available for students who’ve finished their freshman year of college up to graduates within the last calendar year, and internships are provided for nearly all academic majors. 46 employers have hosted Fehribach Center interns including Christel House International, Cummins, Eli Lilly & Co., Eskenazi Health, Ice Miller, Indianapolis Children’s Museum, Pacers Sports & Entertainment, and Republic Airways. In addition to the internship, housing and transportation assistance is provided by the Fehribach Center, and impactful professional development opportunities.
