Position Overview:

The Controller will be key in supporting the fraternity’s financial operations, overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, and implementing a member-based billing model. Additionally, the Controller will manage all accounting functions related to our Housing Corporation, supporting property management, billing, expense tracking, and financial reporting.

This role is ideal for an experienced accountant interested in a dynamic nonprofit environment with growth potential. The Controller will have the opportunity for career advancement; this position may also expand to include oversight of finances for all entities, including our Foundation.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and monitor financial statements, ensuring compliance with all applicable accounting standards.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Fraternity and Housing Corporation.
    • Analyze financial data to provide insights on cash flow, revenue, and expenses, aiding leadership in data-driven decision-making.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Contribute to strategic financial planning and growth initiatives as the organization evolves.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.

  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
  • Experience in property or real estate accounting, preferably within a housing or membership organization, is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualities:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff across multiple departments and entities.
