The Empowered Leaders Resource Network of the YMCA marked its seventh year hosting the 30 Under 30 awards on Dec. 6, honoring the transformative impact of the organization’s young leaders on their communities.
April Eales, Youth, Family and Camp Director at the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, has been selected for the prestigious 30 Under 30 Class by the YMCA of the USA’s Emerging Leaders Resource Network. This recognition celebrates her accomplishments and potential to lead YMCA Associations in the future.
The Empowered Leaders Resource Network, an internal leadership group within the YMCA of the USA, reviewed nearly 100 nominees for this year’s awards.
“The Y is committed to empowering leaders of all background and experiences to make a meaningful impact on the community, says Natasha Bellak, VP of Youth Development at the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis. “April is a proven leader who has demonstrated innovative skills and a commitment to teamwork and community engagement in her roles here at the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis. We are fortunate to have her on our team.”
April has developed family and community programs for downtown Ys, addressing the challenges of serving a diverse user base. She has forged valuable partnerships to enhance community programs, collaborating with organizations like the Marion County Department of Health and Second Helpings for a community feeding program, offering free Spanish language classes, and providing tutoring through Indy Reads.
