Terra Gaucha Introduces Authentic Brazilian Dining to Indianapolis

The Ultimate Churrasco Experience expands to the Midwest
as Terra Gaucha continues its nationwide expansion.

INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 3, 2024) — Terra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse, a rapidly expanding authentic churrasco-style restaurant, today announces its newest location in Indianapolis, officially opening its doors to the public on Friday, December 13, after a soft-opening period from December 9-12. The 8,700-square-foot inside and outdoor venue in the heart of Keystone at the Crossing will offer an authentic Gaúcho-style dining experience with traditional flavors from southern Brazil.

Located at 8487 Union Chapel Road across from the Fashion Mall, Terra Gaucha was born out of the desire to bring the best of Southern Brazil to the United States. Terra Gaucha’s founders made this dream a reality when they opened the first location in Jacksonville in 2015. After resounding success, Terra Gaucha has been expanding city-by-city, with Indianapolis serving as the company’s fourth location and first in the Midwest.

“We are thrilled to bring the unparalleled flavors of Terra Gaucha to such a vibrant dining scene like Indianapolis,” said General Manager Rodolfo Melo. “As a well-visited city with a diverse culture and locals who appreciate exceptional culinary experiences, selecting Indianapolis as our first Midwestern location was a no-brainer. There’s no doubt that Terra Gaucha will be Hoosiers’ new favorite spot in town.”

Born in the “Pampas” (southern region of Brazil), Terra Gaucha’s concept revolves around “Churrasco,” a traditional grilling method using open flames and various cuts of meat. Today, the restaurant proudly keeps the flame alive by roasting meat with authentic Gaúcho seasonings and natural wood charcoal. Terra Gaucha’s chefs are experts in fire-roasting meats and hand-select, butcher, and season each fire-roasted skewer served, elevating this centuries-old cooking technique.

Terra Gaucha’s signature dining option is the price-fixed, all-you-can-experience dining parade, where guests are transported to “Southern Brazil” and pampered from start to finish. Expertly seasoned, fire-roasted meats carved tableside are the heart of the Terra Gaucha experience. The most prized cut of meat is the Picanha, a savory crescent-shaped prime cut of sirloin with a carefully crafted fat cap that flavors the entire cut.

The meat offerings at Terra Gaucha’s cathedral of Churrasco don’t stop with the Picanha. Terra Gaucha’s parade of meat includes bacon-wrapped chicken breasts, chicken drumsticks marinated in bourbon and beer, grilled shrimp with a passionfruit and mango glaze, and lightly wine-marinated pork, among other items.

The full dining experience also features an expansive gourmet hot and cold table displaying over 55 delicious vegetables, fruits, salads, authentic Brazilian hot dishes, and imported meals and cheeses. Mainstays include smoked salmon, lobster bisque, shrimp salad, and more. Patrons can end the night with delicious desserts like Brazilian flan or colossal cheesecake. A full menu can be found here.

Terra Gaucha offers a full-service bar, a restaurant with 200 seats inside, and private dining rooms for groups and special occasions. It is open Monday through Sunday for lunch or brunch and dinner at various times.
