LaMar Holliday, CEO and founder of The Holliday Collaborative Agency - a public relations/marketing/communications firm in Indianapolis, received the 2024 Lew Shattuck Rising Star Award by the National Small Business Association (NSBA) in Washington D.C. on Wednesday, September 18. The NSBA is the leading non-partisan organization dedicated to advocating for small businesses across the nation.
LaMar received this accolade for his innovative approach in addressing the lack of outreach to small business owners in the professional services sector regarding local and state government contract opportunities. He took a proactive stance by sponsoring a Professional Services Workshop in collaboration with the Indianapolis Office of Minority, Women Business Development, and the Indiana Department of Administration's Division of Supplier Diversity, aiming to bridge this gap.
"It’s an honor to advocate for our small business community," said Holliday. "Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and I am committed to ensuring we are well-positioned to support the communities we serve."
During his time in Washington, LaMar also engaged with Indiana lawmakers on Capitol Hill, discussing key small business issues, including the Corporate Transparency Act and Fair Access to Federal Contracts. He took the opportunity to highlight the impactful work of some of his clients, showcasing their contributions to the Indianapolis and Indiana community and the need for national support.
