Turning Grief Into Guidance: How Sarah Kendrick’s RHEA Services Empowers Families Through Loss

While assisting her family in the aftermath of her grandmother's passing, Sarah recognized the profound need for care and support during the bereavement process. This realization led her to establish RHEA Services (Relief, Healing, Empathy, Advocacy), a heartfelt endeavor aimed at assisting other families in the delicate task of honoring their loved ones' legacies. After guiding dozens of families through this challenging period, she uncovered another critical need – the importance of gathering essential information in advance.

Sarah's mission is to empower individuals to proactively collect and organize necessary information to avoid the frantic search for critical details during difficult times.

Since its inception in 2020, RHEA Services has developed three comprehensive books and streamlined processes tailored to assist Families, Small Business Owners, and Caregivers in this essential preparation.

After encouragement from a close friend and meeting the Central Indiana Women’s Business Center (CIWBC) Director and Advisory Council members at a fundraiser on Small Business Saturday, Sarah decided to apply for the 2024 Jacqueline Troy Inspired Fund (JTIF) award. Named in honor of the CIWBC’s first Director, the JTIF award annually recognizes a small, woman-owned business. The process was very competitive, with over 50 other businesses submitting their nomination, but the mission of Sarah’s business resonated with so many. She was selected as the 2024 JTIF winner and awarded a $5,000 monetary award, along with a marketing support package through CIWBC and the Indy Chamber. Sarah plans to engage in business coaching through CIWBC and use the money to further her marketing goals and grow her business.

“I am privileged to have the opportunity to learn about people and their stories when I am doing my work,” said Sarah. “It has led me to be able to better serve other people, to share what they've learned with others, and has given me the inspiration to create even more ways to address the needs of the people I work with.”
