Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis awards 2024 Change Maker

On June 11th, Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis, a charitable women’s giving circle, hosted their 19th Annual Awards Ceremony. The women of Impact 100 selected 91 Place as the 2024 Change Maker to receive the $100,000 grant, allowing them to purchase their current home used to provide stability, safety and a place of belonging for youth experiencing homelessness. They were one of five nonprofits who presented their projects to Impact 100’s members.

“This generous gift will have a profound impact on 91 Place, allowing us to purchase our flagship home on the near east side,” said 91 Place Founder and CEO Jenna Shaffer. “Thanks to the power of women giving as one, we can continue our mission, without disruption, to break the generational cycle of poverty and homelessness. This award ensures that our young residents will always have a secure place to call home, a place where they are loved and supported as they work toward a brighter future.”

Shaffer acknowledged that owning the home will advance the sustainability of the organization, reducing their dependence on rental properties and increase the allocation of resources directly to their programs and services.

During its 19-year history, Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis has granted over $3.02 million to more than 70 nonprofits in Central Indiana. They have created a community of well-informed women and increased philanthropy across Indianapolis.

“Impact 100 is honored to recognize and support the missions of all five of our 2024 Change Maker finalists, said Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis president, Freedom Smith. The need for support in our community remains extremely high, and it’s more important than ever to ensure we are supporting nonprofits whose work directly benefits Central Indiana and its residents. Women giving as one is powerful, and we need to continue to come together and ‘raise the tide’ of philanthropy by connecting 91 Place, our 2024 Change Maker winner, to the funding they need to create positive change in our community.”

The 2024 grant pool was made possible by Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis’ members, whose funds are used exclusively for the purpose of grantmaking, and donations to the “Friends account” which supports administrative costs. The following finalists received $11,000 in Community Support Grants:

Coburn Place Safe Haven

iibada Dance Company

Kids’ Voice of Indiana

Medical Mutts Service Dogs
