Franklin College Celebrates Most Successful #GivetoGRIZ Campaign

Franklin College alumni and friends, as well as the campus community, joined in the spirit of philanthropy during its twelfth annual giving day, #GivetoGRIZ, on Wednesday, April 10. The result was the most successful day of giving event ever for the college, totaling $320,659 from 1,112 donors, surpassing the goals of $250,000 and 1,000 donors.

"The tremendous support we have seen during #GivetoGRIZ reflects impressive confidence in the mission, direction and future of Franklin College," said Kerry N. Prather, president of Franklin College. "Philanthropy is essential to supporting our academic programs, funding scholarships and financial aid, and further enhancing our distinctive and transformational experience for current and future Franklin students.”

"This year’s #GivetoGRIZ event has surpassed all previous records, thanks to the incredible generosity of donors who rallied behind Franklin College," expressed Nora Brems, interim vice president for institutional advancement. "We are grateful to each and every donor whose gifts make a profound difference to our students’ experience at Franklin year after year.”

The money raised during this one-day giving event goes to the Franklin Fund to provide support for students. Nearly 100 percent of Franklin College students receive some form of financial aid, many of whom would not otherwise be able to afford a college education.

The one-day giving challenge began in 2013, raising a total of $14,500 from 137 donors. Each year, both the number of donors and the total amount raised have steadily increased.

While the one-day giving challenge is over for the year, those wishing to donate to the college’s Franklin Fund during this current fiscal year still have until June 30. To give online, visit franklincollege.edu/give or call (317) 738-8040.
