IDO Names New Leadership; Mendoza to Remain on Board

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - IDO Incorporated, an Indianapolis-based interior design organization, has named Amanda Medlen Principal/CEO and Lee Boyland Principal/COO. Founder Jill Mendoza will serve as an advisor on IDO’s Board of Advisors.

The appointments culminate a strategic multi-year transition in which Mendoza has stepped back and Medlen and Boyland have taken on increasing leadership roles.

“We’ve been working for several years to create a seamless leadership transition," said Mendoza. "Throughout the process, Amanda and Lee collaborated with our external board of advisors and our talented internal team to plan the next phase of the company’s growth.”

Medlen and Boyland each began their IDO careers as interns, joining the firm full-time after earning their interior design degrees. Since that time, both Medlen and Boyland have acquired National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) and LEED accreditations.

Mendoza launched IDO in 1992 as a one-woman design firm operating from her home. Today its 15 employees serve a range of corporate, healthcare, life sciences, education and government clients from offices in downtown Indianapolis.

“On behalf of the IDO team, Lee and I offer our deepest gratitude to Jill for her entrepreneurial vision in building a leading commercial interior design organization,” Medlen said. “We commend her for her decades of leadership and service to our clients, the company, and its employees, and we’re thrilled that she will continue to serve as a trusted advisor, supporting strategic initiatives and helping to facilitate a smooth transition.”
