Recently, CareSource’s own Keisha Zackery, Director, Healthy Equity for the Indiana market, was named one of the Women of Influence by The City League, a nonprofit that uses basketball as a means to facilitate community development in the city.
This title is given to women doing important work in the city of Indianapolis. Zackery had the honor of naming a Queens of the Court basketball team after her for the Spring 2023 Women’s T-Shirt League, supporting young female athletes, and connecting with other influential women in the community.
CareSource and The City League have partnered for previous basketball tournaments and have enjoyed bringing Hoosiers in the community together to enjoy these energetic events. CareSource will also be a 2023 League Leading Partner for the 2023 City League season this summer.
“I’m honored to be recognized by the City League alongside so many other incredible women,” said Zackery. “I’ve loved getting to work with my team and being a part of the mission to support strong women and build a great community in the city.”
“Keisha is very deserving of this worthy recognition” said Steve Smitherman, president of CareSource Indiana. “She has not only been involved in the City League but a number of other important community activities. She continues to champion for women in the community and on her team.”
Zackery has been at CareSource for over eight years, becoming the Director of Health Equity in Indiana in January of 2023. She develops and assesses health-equity strategic plans, participates in the health equity committee, and collaborates with CareSource members, government entities, and other community organizations to reduce health disparities in Indiana.
