CEO Search Open for Cancer Support Community

President & CEO, Cancer Support Community of Indiana – Fifty-four percent of Americans say they or someone else in their immediate family has been diagnosed with cancer at some point. (https://www.cbsnews.com/). The Cancer Support Community of Indiana exists so that no one faces cancer alone. For over 20 years, CSC has led the charge in Indiana to build a vibrant community of cancer survivors and their loved ones. Through offices in Indianapolis and Bloomington plus delivering programming at hospital sites around central Indiana, CSC focuses on providing psychosocial support to complement medical treatments. Our education programs aim to empower people impacted by cancer while our wellness programs are designed to strengthen both body and mind over the course of the cancer journey. This opportunity is created by the departure of a successful nine-year leader. Annual budget of $2.5 mil and capable staff team of 40+ full-time and part-time staff and contractors.

Compensation: $120k-135k plus health insurance, retirement contribution.

CSC is searching for a compassionate, service-minded President & CEO who will lead the organization to provide the best possible support solutions for individuals and families. The ideal leader will have experience expanding the infrastructure that supports a growing organization. A key to success will be their approachable and engaging style, transparent leadership, and willingness to listen to and empower staff and volunteers.

This is not a role for a CEO who only wants to oversee the work but needs a leader who gets excited about hustling and doing the work every day to build engagement, attract resources, expand the existing service area, and increase impact. The President & CEO will serve as the external face of CSC in Central Indiana and Bloomington, in partnership with the staff and board, to cultivate relationships with hospitals, donors, the philanthropic community, media, and corporate partners.

Why CSC?

  • We serve everyone: patients, survivors, families, caregivers, and friends. We don’t turn anyone away.
