INDIANAPOLIS – The FORVIS Foundation has donated $100,000 to the Center for Leadership Development in Indianapolis, an organization that fosters the advancement of minority youth in Central Indiana as the next generation of professional, business and community leaders. CLD’s mission is to amplify the value of education and expand the circle of Indianapolis African American youth who flourish in the classroom and their higher learning pursuits.
The donation from FORVIS contributed to CLD’s five-year, $33 million Rise Campaign to help cultivate significantly greater academic achievement and character development in African American youth. The Rise campaign is now in its final year and is nearing its goal.
“FORVIS supports the Center for Leadership Development’s aspirations to help Indianapolis and its surrounding areas lead the nation in Black youth academic achievement,” said Indianapolis and Bloomington Managing Partner Kevin Pahud. “CLD President Dennis Bland’s passion, humility, and leadership empowers youth and strengthens the community daily. We are excited to partner with the CLD to unlock the full potential of the youth in the communities we both serve.”
“The Center for Leadership Development works diligently to give youth and families across central Indiana access to one of our nation’s preeminent program experiences dedicated to nurturing the strongest character and the highest academic, post-secondary, and career achievement in African American youth,” Bland said. “We are so very grateful to FORVIS for its significant investment in our work, as we strive to make this vison of establishing an exemplary program model a reality for our city. We express our heartfelt gratitude to FORVIS for their trust in us.”
The objectives for the Rise Campaign include establishing CLD satellite locations within some of Indianapolis’ most distressed neighborhoods; partnering with schools to provide programming directly to students during the school day; doubling the size of its headquarters facility from 20,000 to 40,000 square feet to increase operating and program capacity; and establishing an endowment to help sustain the organization for future uncertainties.
