Former Vice President Pence Keynotes Remnant Trust 25th Anniversary Celebration Oct. 4th

America’s 48th Vice President, Mike Pence, will give the keynote address at The Remnant Trust’s 25th anniversary celebration this Fall at the Columbia Club in Indianapolis.

The Oct. 4 event follows the Trust’s relocation ‘back home again’ to Indiana in January. The proceeds from the fundraiser will help expand the trust’s educational programming.

“It was great to learn the Trust has relocated to its historic home in Indiana, and I’m delighted to give the keynote address for its 25th anniversary,” Pence said. “Its work is more important today then ever,” he added.

“We are thrilled the Vice President is able to join us Oct. 4th to celebrate the Trust’s Wisdom of the Ages Athenaeum, a collection of historic works focused on liberty and dignity,” said Trust Chairman Chris Talley. “Vice President Pence’s views and actions are closely aligned with the institutions and ideas returning us to the core ‘First Principles’ highlighted by our nearly 1600 books and texts. Those principles include a constitutional republic focusing on the proper function of government, responsible citizenship, and how we live together in society as free and responsible individuals,” Talley added.

The collection, which is now housed at the Indiana Historical Society, contains rare and first edition texts from four continents in 12 languages spanning 2500 years. It is one of — if not the — premier private collection focused on the ideas and ideals of liberty and dignity.

The Trust, with offices at the Columbia Club on the Circle, has maintained a special focus on the American Founding since its formal incorporation as an educational non-profit in Indiana in 1997. The Trust works with academic institutions and conducts conferences, seminars, Socratic-style symposia and other events to offer engaging interactions with the ideas and works spanning nearly three millennia on human freedom. With the relocation, the Trust seeks to also work with schools, lIbraries, service clubs, professional associations and more to put these important works in more hands more often.
