We welcome Scott Pegg, Yelena Sinitsky, Dr. Paul Park, and Dr. Joseph Schwartz to the Timmy Board of Directors!

We at Timmy Global Health are thankful for the new members and those that continue to serve. We value their individual gifts and abilities, as well as their commitment to advance Timmy's mission.

  • Scott Pegg is the new Timmy board chair. He is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). He has worked with Timmy Global Health for the past twenty years, largely in terms of its partnership with the Bebor Model Nursery and Primary Schools in Rivers State, Nigeria. Dr. Pegg will continue to spearhead Timmy’s partnership with Bebor but will now be involved more broadly in shaping the organization’s larger mission and strategic vision. Read more about Dr. Pegg in this announcement article from IUPUI School of Liberal Arts here.
  • Dr. Paul Park has volunteered with Timmy since his undergraduate education, by being a leader in the Timmy chapter at Indiana University. He also volunteered directly with our partner Tierra Nueva in Quito, Ecuador, and founded the partnership between communities in Guatemala and Timmy Global Health. He is currently the Chief Mission Officer at Lifelong: Health for All, and holds academic appointments as an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and the Division of Global Health Equity at Brigham and Women's Hospital.
  • Dr. Joseph Schwartz has been a volunteer physician in several Timmy medical brigades since 2010. He has also been part of fundraising for the community health promotion program in Guatemala through 32 Volcanoes. He graduated from Emory University School of Medicine and works as a Family Physician at Sutter Health in California, where he is also involved in medical student teaching, and internal Continuing Medical Education programs.
  • Yelena Sinitsky brings over 30 years experience working with students as a secondary Math teacher. She has been the Advisor for the International School of Indiana Timmy High School Chapter since 2004. She has served as chaperone for numerous service trips with Timmy since 2009. She is a graduate of Ural State University (Russia).
