FORUM Credit Union Celebrates National Credit Union Youth Month

FORUM Credit Union is celebrating National Credit Union Youth Month throughout the month of April. Credit Union National Association’s (CUNA) Youth Month was created to help teach and encourage kids to develop good financial habits. FORUM’s younger members have the opportunity to enter to win a $250 savings account deposit when they complete and return a budgeting and activity worksheet. This year’s theme for National Credit Union Youth Month is, “Save Small. Dream Big. at your credit union.” FORUM wants to walk alongside members to help them achieve their financial dreams from an early age. In addition to the youth promotion, FORUM also created a page at forumcu.com/youth-month that includes savings tips, budgeting information, and more.

FORUM offers various ways to help kids save for their futures, no matter what that future holds. This includes everything from youth savings accounts, to free student checking accounts, to a college matching account called Sprout. The Sprout Account offers a matching feature that rewards kids when they save money for college, trade school, a business start-up, or whatever dream they may have. This account can be opened for a child, grandchild, niece, nephew, or any special youth in an adult’s life. Each calendar year, FORUM matches up to 10% of deposited funds at specific tier levels.
