We have CBD (cannabinodiol) oil at Brengle Family Medicine.  We carry a sublingual liquid and a topical cream combined with essential oils.

CBD Oil has gained a lot of attention lately.  CBD Oil is an extract from the hemp plant that has been known and used for its medicinal properties for thousands of years.  It is NOT marijuana or pot.  THC is the compound found in marijuana that causes the psychotropic effect or “high” associated with marijuana.  Our oil contains negligible amounts of THC therefore having NO psychotropic effect, and will NOT cause a drug test to be positive.

Our bodies have an intricate and vast network of receptors called the endocannabanoid system which impact many areas of our health and are most abundant in the brain and immune system.  The endocannabinoid system is involved in important body functions such as immune and inflammatory responses, perception of pain, sleep, relaxation, cognitive (thinking) ability, digestion, and mood. This system is normally driven by the healthy production of our own endocannabinoid compounds.

However, many of us have a deficiency in our endocannabinoids for a variety of reasons, stress topping the list.  Fortunately, nature supplies us with phytocannabinoids from the hemp plant that can serve as a replacement for the endocannabanoids our bodies may be lacking.

CBD oil has been known to bring about improvement in many disease states and medical problems.  Below is a short list (not all inclusive) of some of the areas for which CBD oil has been helpful :

Chronic Pain

Eczema,  Psoriasis, and other skin conditions

Depression and Anxiety

Migraine Headache and Chronic Migraine

Many more

At Brengle Family Medicine, we are carrying a full spectrum, highly purified, phytocannabinoid rich form of CBD oil made from Certified USDA organic hemp plants. “Full spectrum” means that the vast array of healthy compounds found in the hemp plant are carefully extracted and contained in our CBD oil. Unlike many CBD products currently on the market, this form of CBD oil is able to overcome the fact that oil based supplements are poorly absorbed by the body.  The oil we have is made water soluble by a proprietary process no other producer of CBD oil can use. This means that every health promoting compound in our oil is delivered to your body’s endocannabinoid system for maximum benefit.  This high degree of bio-availability means greater potential for health benefits and faster onset of action.

We carry the oil for sublingual (under the tongue) dosing and a topical cream combined with essential oils to be applied to the skin over sore and aching arthritic joints, strained muscles, or patches of skin affected by eczema, psoriasis, and other inflammatory skin conditions.

Call Brengle Family Medicine at 317-252-1219 to find out how you can learn more about CBD oil and its potential benefits for you.  You do not have to be a patient in our practice to purchase CBD oil from us.

Thank you!

Blair Brengle, MD
