Hirons Brings Statehouse Expertise to Public Affairs Division

INDIANAPOLIS – Hirons, an Indianapolis-based advertising, public relations and digital agency, has hired seasoned Statehouse talent to provide clients with bipartisan strategic communications counsel.

Bringing a deep network of political and media relationships to the agency are Charity Stowe, former deputy director of legislative affairs for the Indiana House Democratic Caucus, and Emily Gaylord, former press secretary for the Indiana House Republican Caucus.

At Hirons, Stowe manages client accounts and devises strategic communication plans for new and existing clients while ensuring the public affairs team stays on target to meet client goals. She also is responsible for maintaining client relationships and building new ones through public outreach and community relations.

Stowe, from South Bend, graduated from Indiana University South Bend and later earned a Master of Public Affairs degree at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. She held numerous roles in the Indiana House Democratic Caucus and received the Legislative Achievement Award in 2016 from the National Conference of State Legislatures Leadership Staff Section, which she served as chair.

“I am thrilled to be joining a team who works to give organizations the chance to succeed in their efforts to educate, inform and expand public awareness and action,” said Stowe.

Gaylord, from Allen County, earned her B.A. in advertising from Ball State University. At Hirons, she leverages her extensive media relationships to design and implement earned media campaigns, which she supports with advanced digital and broadcast strategies that get clients’ messages the targeted exposure they need.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to help a diverse client base achieve their communications goals,” said Gaylord. “Hirons prides itself on good working relationships with all media, from Lake Michigan to the Ohio River.”

Both women are members of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and active in their communities. Gaylord is a member of New Circle Church in the Mapleton-Fall Creek neighborhood. Stowe was the vice president of the Fountain Square Neighborhood Association Board and has volunteered as a court-appointed special advocate and as mentor for the Youth Justice Project’s “Reading for Life” program.
