Gene B. Glick Company receives national community service award

INDIANAPOLIS – The Gene B. Glick Company, one of the country’s largest property management and development firms, has taken home top honors for its community service. “Multifamily Executive” magazine (known as MFE) awarded its Community Service Award to Glick on Sept. 18 in Las Vegas at the 2018 Multifamily Executive Conference.

The Multifamily Executive Awards honor excellence in the multifamily industry and recognized Glick this year for its Feeding Those in Need program, which aims to increase access to healthy, nutritious food in the communities where Glick properties are located. Through the program, Glick employees recommend local nonprofits who are working to fight food insecurity. Those nonprofits are then invited to apply for a grant from Glick Philanthropies. The grants help to provide meals for children, families and seniors who lack access, and help to tackle the root causes of their food insecurity, including unemployment and financial instability. Glick has also added community gardens at many of its properties.

MFE’s Community Service Award honors companies who give back beyond just donating money. MFE specifically looks at how companies impact their communities, employees and corporate culture

Founded in 1947 and based in Indianapolis, Glick has more than 20,000 apartment units in 13 states. Gene and Marilyn Glick, the founders of the Gene B. Glick Company, also created Glick Philanthropies, a family of charitable initiatives, programs and organizations focused on building community and creating opportunity. Glick Philanthropies has a long tradition of giving back to the communities where Glick Company properties are located.
