INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., April 2, 2018—EnviroForensics®, an Indianapolis-based environmental engineering firm with offices in Wisconsin and Kentucky, announced today that Jeff Carnahan will succeed Nancy Shields as President. Carnahan will lead the company’s commitment to restoring environmentally impacted properties for the benefit of private and public customers.
As Executive Vice President, Mr. Carnahan has led EnviroForensics’ technical services on which past President, Nancy Shields, and CEO Steve Henshaw, built rapid sales growth over the last five years. The firm drives sales by finding the funding to pay for expensive costs of cleaning up its clients’ contaminated properties and turning environmental liabilities into assets. The company is best known for its strategic market approach, which addresses the liability of environmental exposure with historical and contemporary funding sources, and satisfies regulatory compliance with plans for adaptive re-use of affected sites.
Carnahan is an environmental expert in multiple fields and consults nation-wide regarding vapor intrusion, which occurs when the release of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in soil and groundwater cause vapors to seep into buildings exposing occupants to health risks. He shares the company’s passion for redeveloping and re-using contaminated properties. “Formerly contaminated dry cleaning and other industrial properties that are shovel-ready can be a vital resource for a community’s redevelopment plan. That’s why it has become an exciting new business line for EnviroForensics”, said Carnahan.
“Jeff Carnahan is a proven leader in the environmental consulting community, which is highly competitive and complex. He is astute at working with clients, regulatory agencies, lawyers and claim handlers to develop cost-effective remedial approaches that enable the contaminated property to be cleaned up and repurposed at its greatest value. In addition, Jeff oversaw the building of a large technical services team while opening up Wisconsin as a territory, which gives me great confidence in his abilities,” says Steve Henshaw, founder and CEO of EnviroForensics. Henshaw and Shields, now a consultant with her own firm, will work to strengthen partnerships and build community through Indiana’s formerly contaminated sites as Carnahan takes over as President.
