Erin Roth Joins Strada Education Network as EVP and General Counsel

INDIANAPOLIS — Strada Education Network announces the appointment of Erin Roth as executive vice president and general counsel. In her new role, Roth directs all legal activities of Strada Education, an Indianapolis-based national nonprofit dedicated to improving lives by strengthening the pathways between education and employment.

Roth provides legal guidance to Strada Education’s officers, trustees and subsidiary organizations, and maintains effective corporate governance for Strada Education and its affiliates.

She has a wide-ranging background in legal issues and oversight, most recently as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for Wabash National Corp. in Lafayette, Ind. In that role, Roth was chief legal officer and a member of the executive management team responsible for corporate revenue diversification. She oversaw the legal, compliance and government relations budgets and actively managed several merger-and-acquisition transactions.

Roth joined Wabash National as corporate counsel in 2007, later serving as senior corporate counsel and corporate secretary before becoming senior vice president in 2010.

Prior to her time at Wabash National, Roth practiced law with Barnes & Thornburg, based in Indianapolis and Washington, D.C. She has a vast background in complex commercial litigation as well as international trade.

Roth joins Strada Education Network, formerly USA Funds, as the organization continues its work strengthening its impact on challenges facing higher education and workforce development today. Building on 57 years of supporting college access and student success, USA Funds last year exited its historic role helping more than 22 million students and parents pay for college as the nation’s leading federal student loan guarantor and launched a new chapter as Strada Education Network.

“We are pleased to welcome Erin to the Strada Education team,” said William D. Hansen, Strada Education president and CEO. “With an impressive background that combines legal expertise with corporate oversight experience, she will be invaluable in accelerating our work in Completion With a Purpose — building a more purposeful path for America’s students to rewarding careers and fulfilling lives.”

Roth holds a juris doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Butler University. She was selected for the class of 2002-2003 Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series, and, in 2015, was listed among Indianapolis Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40” professionals.

She was an inaugural member of Giving Sum and is active in The Policy Circle. Roth also is vice chair of the Butler University Board of Visitors-Lacy School of Business.
