Develop Indy Launches New Tool to Support Business Growth in Indianapolis

A resource supporting entrepreneurs and businesses in Indianapolis, this new microsite will allow businesses and entrepreneurs to access critical market research in one easy location

(Indianapolis, IN, January 31, 2018) Develop Indy is pleased to team with technology firm Localintel to launch an economic development microsite that will provide Indianapolis businesses and entrepreneurs online information and advice in a streamlined format. Develop Indy is a fierce advocate for Indianapolis as a great place to turn an idea into reality, and today’s announcement helps remove barriers to economic success with the launch of this new digital tool.

According to Develop Indy, many businesses express frustration when looking for reliable business development information online. As part of their mission to connect and support innovators, Develop Indy launched this new microsite to make it easier for start-up, emerging and existing businesses to:

  • research the local business climate and industry trends
  • evaluate the workforce by education, occupation, and location
  • identify their customers and competitors

“This microsite provides businesses with access to valuable information and highlights the essential concepts required to ask the right questions, analyze the data correctly and make better business decisions,” said Ian Nicolini, Executive Director of Develop Indy and Vice President of Indianapolis Economic Development at the Indy Chamber. “This will be a great asset for local business owners as well as entrepreneurs, and will make Indy all the more attractive to outside firms.”

The launch of this microsite comes on the heels of a successful 2017 for Develop Indy, with 86 successful economic development projects accounting for more than $1.3 billion in capital investment and over 11,000 new or retained jobs. While major projects such as Salesforce and Infosys dominated headlines, Develop Indy is committed to growing businesses of all sizes and industries.

Data within the microsite will be routinely updated, and new data sets will be added periodically to provide additional resources to small- to medium-sized businesses all in one easy-to-find location. The launch of this microsite is the latest in an online toolbox of resources to help entrepreneurs, including OpenCounter, a platform to streamline the permitting and zoning process.
