INDIANAPOLIS - (October 20, 2016) The revitalization of Speedway’s Main Street submitted by the Town of Speedway received the highest honor of the Monumental Award tonight at the Indy Chamber's annual Monumental Awards gala. The premier awards ceremony, organized with assistance from the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), honored the most significant achievements by individuals and businesses that contribute to excellence in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, construction, real estate development, neighborhood revitalization, engineering, innovative reuse and public art throughout the Indianapolis region.
"The incredible renovation of Speedway’s Main Street took nearly a decade to become the bustling urban center it is today, welcoming residents and visitors year-round," Michael Huber, President and CEO of the Indy Chamber, explained. "This project and others submitted for the Monumental Awards showcase the vision and talents of Indy's design, engineering, and construction industries as the cornerstone of our region's built environment."
The Monumental Award was accepted by representatives of The Town of Speedway.
