It’s time to talk talent - growing, attracting and retaining our top-notch talent base is imperative to the future of Indy’s economic success. That’s why we’re teaming up with Indiana INTERNnet to help spread the word about opportunities to engage college students and recent grads in local internship opportunities, giving them hands-on experience in today’s workforce. 

Indiana INTERNnet is a free online internship-matching program linking employers, students, high schools, colleges and universities. The goal is to help create or expand high-quality experiential opportunities within the state. Indiana INTERNnet connects students and employers with internship opportunities through a database of more than 14,724 students, 6,762 employers and 970 available positions.

Moreover, Indiana INTERNnet has sweetened the deal, offering exclusive access to the Employer Aid Readiness Network, or EARN Indiana work-study program, in partnership with the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. Through this program, employers with an approved internship may receive 50 percent state matching funds by hiring students, eligible to receive state financial aid, for a resume-building, experiential, paid internship.

In a recent survey of Indy Chamber members, over 83 percent of respondents were unfamiliar with the EARN Indiana program. You can learn more about the program and how your company can help develop and retain our top talent through hands-on internship programs at www.indianaintern.net.

Our partners at the Indiana Chamber of Commerce are doing a deeper dive on internship needs and asking Indiana businesses to complete the following survey. The Indy Chamber will also have access to this data to follow up and provide assistance to companies that need help and resources setting up internship programs.
