While our society faces an epidemic of prescription drug abuse and illegal drug use, state legislatures continue to de-criminalize the use of marijuana medically and recreationally. Where do these trends put employers seeking to enforce drug-free workplace policies? This program will tackle these challenging issues and discuss: The implications under the Americans with Disabilities Act when employees seek treatment for substance abuse or report that they are required to use medical marijuana; The challenges of creating compliant drug testing policies; and The management of leave issues when employees seek treatment.
