Coaching Clients to Obtain Loans

Indy Chamber News Archives

ISBDC has always had the reputation for assisting business owners put together solid business plans – especially the narrative portion. However, over the last year, the ISBDC business advisors have taken the process astep further by providing hands-on assistance to business owners regarding their financial projections and assumptions. As a result, local business bankers are now reaching out to the ISBDC to help their clients apply for lines of credit, real estate and capital equipment loans, business acquisition loans, etc.

The ISBDC keenly understands that business owners need to communicate information to their lenders in the proper way; otherwise, it is extremely difficult for the lender to assess the risks and make the correct decision.

In addition to one-on-one consulting, the ISBDC can provide the following tools to assist with the loan process:

  • Nationally-recognized market research databases - providing relevant industry information and demographics to validate a business owner’s assumptions.
  • Peerview Data – comprehensive report providing a snapshot of how a business stacks up in the specific industry in the areas of finance, operations, marketing and human resources.

Please contact the Central ISBDC if your client (or a business owner you know) needs assistance in putting together their loan package.
