INDIANAPOLIS (March 25, 2015) – The NCAA, Lowe’s, and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful have partnered to refurbish the gymnasium basketball court and provide landscaping and beautification to JTV Hill Park as part of the NCAA Legacy Restorations presented by Lowe’s. Indiana Sports Corp and members of the Indiana Host Committee helped to coordinate the project

“This park has been an important part of the Indianapolis community for over 90 years,” said Allen McClendon, Sr. Manager of Community Outreach, City of Indianapolis Department of Parks and Recreation. “We were thrilled when we found out the NCAA and Lowe’s were going to help us restore and update not only the basketball gym but the landscaping and outdoor area. It’s amazing to see the difference it’s made.”

Interior updates to the neighborhood center included refurbished flooring, painted walls, upgraded backboards and scoreboards and new bleachers. In addition, more than 60 Lowe’s Heroes employee volunteers painted exterior doors and benches, updated landscaping and improved the safety of the playground.

“We are very grateful that Lowe’s partnered with us to restore the JTV Hill Center to help it better serve the neighborhood,” said Victor Hill, NCAA Associate Director of Community Programs. “Refurbishing the basketball court and beautifying the park grounds are small changes that affect the lives of many children and young adults by giving them a safe environment to play and participate in activities.”

“Updating JTV Hill Park was a perfect project for our Lowe’s Heroes to be a part of,” said James Jackson, Lowe’s store manager of Indianapolis. “Lowe’s helps people love where they live everyday and tries to do the same thing in the community. It is all about giving back to the neighborhoods where we work and live.”

As part of the 2015 NCAA Championships, the NCAA Legacy Restorations presented by Lowe’s are proud to provide lasting legacies in the host cities of the Men’s Final Four (Indianapolis), Women’s Basketball Championship (Tampa, Florida),Men’s College World Series (Omaha, Nebraska) and Women’s College World Series (Oklahoma City).
