DESCRIPTION:Event Program: Leaders Leading with Equity\nThis event is crucial to BEI’s broader vision. Instead of relying on policy documents\, BEI is showcasing leaders who have lived experiences of equity woven into their daily work and organizational cultures. They’ve gone beyond the surface\, listening intently to the community – from C-suite executives to individual contributors – and they have consistently identified individuals who are truly embodying what it means to lead with equity. This event will celebrate those leaders\, shining a light on their efforts and demonstrating that meaningful progress is not just a possibility\, but a reality. \nThis event will feature leaders from several prominent Indianapolis organizations\, including: \n\nOne America Financial\nUnited Way of Central Indiana\nCummins\n\nThese organizations represent a cross-section of industries and demonstrate that the drive for equity is a common thread across the city. BEI is actively engaging with leaders across Indianapolis\, recognizing that true progress requires shared dedication and collaborative efforts. \nThe “Leaders Leading with Equity” event is more than just a celebration; it’s a call to action. BEI hopes to inspire other organizations to examine their practices\, seek out authentic leadership\, and embrace the responsibility of building truly equitable environments where all can thrive. By showcasing the tangible positive impact of equity leadership\, BEI hopes to accelerate the movement towards a more just and inclusive Indianapolis. \n\nBusiness Equity for Indy’s (BEI) People Community of Practice (PcP) exists to increase diverse representation within companies. Through PcP\, hiring professionals have access to guidance and support as they look to attract\, retain\, and advance Black professionals. \nThrough BEI\, Central Indiana’s corporate community has united behind a shared goal of increasing equity. PcP aims to partner with those companies to identify\, document\, and promote best practices to advance Black professionals and other minority employees in their career trajectories.
