Every year, Small Business Saturday takes place the day after Black Friday to encourage shoppers to support their local shops, artisans and entrepreneurs. The Indy Chamber believes in the power of shopping local because not only does it support our small businesses, but it helps all of us: According to a national study, if you spend $100 at a local business, roughly $68 stays in your local economy. If you spend the same are a large business, only $43 stays in the local economy. This holiday, choose to #shopsmall!

Check out the following #ShopSmall hotspots this year:

Mass Ave: Stores open early at 9 am and first 10 shoppers get Mass Ave swag bags! These Mass Ave swag bags are filled with merchandise, coupons, gift-cards and more. Over 41 stores, restaurants/bars, and entertainment venues will be open so make sure you get there early, get first in line, and get your swag bag! LEARN MORE 

Women and Minority Small Business Market: Murat Head over to the Murat Shrine Building for the Small Business Saturday Market from 11-4. The market showcases 60+ local women and minority owned small businesses. What a perfect place to get all of your Christmas shopping done! Parking and admission are free.  LEARN MORE

Broad Ripple: Join Broad Ripple in celebrating Small Business Saturday. Make your first stop at the BRVA office at 10am to pick up a free AMEX canvas shopping bag filled with coupons and giveaways. There are only 100 bags so get there early! LEARN MORE

Fountain Square: Fountain Square is doing the Small Business Passport again. Get your stamps in and you could win a gift basket worth over $800. Square Cat is ready to kick off your Small Business Saturday bright and early. From 9-12, enjoy 20% all records, turntables, and merchandise. All day, there will be half off all alcoholic drinks.

Near Eastside Indy: Celebrate Small Business Saturday on the Near Eastside. Spend your day finding unique gifts, and checking out local restaurants, bars, and breweries. There will be live trees for sale, donut trucks, and more.
