This past may, our Develop Indy team experimented with pop-up retail as an economic development solution for activating vacant and underutilized space around Downtown Indianapolis. Since May in Indy is a very distinct time, we wanted to capture the energy and enthusiasm for our city while showing visitors a heightened streetfront experience.
Luckily for us, the partnerships of local developers and owners coupled with the creative hustle of our small business community produced unique installations and retail successes. Season 2 of St’Artup317 engaged with over 30 artists and retailers that created exhibits and ran their retail operations in 11 different locations. (The Picadilly Building, Circle City Industrial Complex, CityWay, Circle Centre Mall, and more)
