Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series Seeking Applicants for Class XLI

Indy Chamber News Archives

INDIANAPOLIS – The Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Series® (SKL®) is seeking emerging community leaders to apply for Class XLI. Applications are available online at www.SKLIndy.com. Applications are due on Monday, April 11.

The SKL Series helps emerging community leaders become more informed about the issues and needs facing Central Indiana, motivated to get involved in addressing those issues, connected and more effective in their service to our community. The mission is to equip class participants with the knowledge and resources to become powerful agents of change in our community.

Each class features an in-depth look at pertinent issues facing the region. Topics range from education, community development, health and human services, to the environment, quality of life, economic development and more.

Among the many benefits class members receive are the opportunities to:

  • Meet business and civic leaders who have had an impact on the Greater Indianapolis community.

  • Glean insight from civic leaders and decision-makers who act as “faculty” for SKL.

  • Develop positive and meaningful relationships with fellow class members and the class moderator.

  • Build a network of community contacts that will be helpful in future community service efforts.

“The SKL Series is a valuable program for ascending talent in our city,” said Rebecca King, SKL Program Director. “I strongly encourage organizations to look deep within their ranks for those who best fit the SKL Series’ criteria and support their emerging leaders to apply.”

Applicants are selected on the basis of professional achievement and community involvement. Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in community issues, be an experienced leader in voluntary community activities, occupy a position reflecting significant achievement relative to age and experience, have lived in the Greater Indianapolis area for three or more years and be between the ages of 25 and 45.

SKL Class XLI will take place from September 2016 to June 2017. Classes meet on a monthly basis.

Questions about the program can be directed to Rebecca King, SKL Program Director, at 317.860.3673 or [email protected].
