Experienced franchisees opening second of planned five locations in Indianapolis area.

GREENBELT, Md. ZIPS Dry Cleaners – a rapidly growing garment care and dry cleaning franchise known for its same-day, one-price business model – is opening its second Indianapolis location on November 15, just months after opening its first.

The new store will be located at 8553 Ditch Road. This will be the second Indianapolis location for local entrepreneurs Emma and Larry Frutkin. Their first location opened in the Clearwater Springs Shopping Center in early February of this year.

“Indianapolis is embracing our eco- and wallet-friendly concept, so we’re thrilled to bring ZIPS to another neighborhood in town,” said Larry, an Indianapolis native. “With ZIPS, you know exactly how and where your clothes are being cleaned, and what it’s going to cost you.”

At ZIPS, a customer can have any item of clothing dry cleaned for $2.49. It doesn’t matter if the item is a pair of pants, a dress, or a winter coat, the price is $2.49, 60 percent less than the national average. Garments are also cleaned on-site, allowing for same-day service.

“Dry cleaning has been confusing and frustrating for customers in the past because no one was able to explain why different items cost different prices,” said Emma. “ZIPS has changed the game by charging a low flat rate for all garments. It is a revolutionary, yet simple concept and we are excited to be able to share it with the Indianapolis community.”

Additionally, ZIPS is leading the way with new environmentally friendly practices, such as its use of biodegradable plastic bags and hanger recycling program. ZIPS recycles thousands of hangers each year, uses 100% biodegradable plastic bags, and focuses on continuing to reduce water usage and waste production.

“It is fulfilling to see the ZIPS brand continue to grow across the country,” said ZIPS CEO Drew Ritger. “We are proud of the service and value we provide to our customers and knowing that we can serve more people is a very satisfying achievement for us. Dedicated and experienced franchise partners like Emma and Larry are vital for ZIPS’ success not only in growing the brand, but in providing quality service and immense value to our customers as well. ZIPS is excited to see the successful launch of the brand by Larry and Emma in Central Indiana and are thrilled to see the second location open to serve the greater Indianapolis market.”

Today, ZIPS has more than 60 locations open and operating throughout the Mid-Atlantic and as far as Texas and California. The company also has an active franchise pipeline that stands at more than 250 stores, all of which are slated to open over the next several years.
