INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 15, 2021) — Ken Honeywell, founder and creative director of Well Done Marketing, has announced he will be retiring from the agency on December 31, 2021. Well Done Marketing will continue offering advertising, public relations, graphic design, content marketing, digital strategy, and web development services under the direction of President Lisa Sirkin Vielee.

“Working 40 years in this industry is plenty of time for me. I’m leaving knowing the agency is in capable hands with a group of really talented, wonderful people ready to serve clients,” said Honeywell. “My greatest satisfaction has always come from recognizing and giving credit to my team for their hard work, and now’s their time. I have no doubt they’ll go forth and be awesome in everything they do.”

After graduating from Butler in 1980, Honeywell worked with agencies—CRE, The Juhl Agency, and Morey and Waddell—through the early 1990s. During that time, he wrote copy for clients such as Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau, Indiana National Bank, Hook’s Drugs, Noble Roman’s, and Senator Richard Lugar’s 1988 reelection campaign. He spent the next decade freelancing, and in 2005, he formed Well Done Marketing with his wife, Becky, relocating their office to the Fountain Square neighborhood in 2007.

Due to Well Done’s early success with a small pool of clients, including Southeast Neighborhood Development, Local Initiatives Support Corporation Indianapolis, and St. Vincent Health, the Honeywells quickly grew their team, adding additional services to keep up with demand and the evolution of the industry.

In 2015, Honeywell invited Sirkin Vielee to merge her public relations firm with Well Done Marketing as part of his succession planning for the agency. Currently, the agency has 30 people on staff, serves 40 local and national clients, and has increased gross revenue by 89.5% since 2019.

“I will always be grateful for Ken’s expertise, mentorship, and invitation to join forces to make Well Done a full-service agency,” said Sirkin Vielee. “We have put an incredible team together. As Well Done Marketing looks to the future, we will continue to uphold Ken’s dedication of doing bold work for people who want to make the world a better place.”

Throughout his career, Honeywell served on a number of organizational boards including SENSE Charter Schools, Spirit & Place, and Second Helpings. In addition to establishing a nonprofit, Second Story, to introduce young children to creative writing, he was also one of the founding members of Tonic Ball. The annual grassroots fundraiser that highlights local musicians and benefits Second Helpings will celebrate its 20th anniversary this November. Honeywell will continue giving back to the community as he and Becky plan to remain residents of Indianapolis. He will also serve the agency in a consultative role beginning in 2022.

A national search for a creative director will begin in spring of 2021. More information on the position will be available on the Well Done Marketing website.
