President & CEO, Tangram, Inc. (Indpls, IN) – Tangram creates extraordinary lives for persons living with disability…far beyond what most believe is possible. Established in 1985 by families of individuals with disabilities who wanted better options for their loved ones, Tangram customizes services to meet each client’s specific needs to allow them to live full, meaningful, and happy lives at home and as productive members of their community. Our in-depth approach includes creating innovative business initiatives focused on employment opportunities and community engagement.

We are looking for a strong, visionary CEO to oversee our services and champion our clients. Experience with decentralized or multi-site service delivery, 3rd party billing/Medicaid, government funding, and P & L responsibility. The ideal candidate will possess core strengths of service, advocacy and entrepreneurism combined with a strong desire to empower and support disabled individuals. This individual will be a servant leader who will work closely with and value the expertise of an impassioned, seasoned support staff to build upon the successes the organization already has in improving the lives of people with disabilities. The CEO will lead Tangram in seeking new ways to connect businesses and individuals with disabilities and engage Indianapolis and the surrounding communities with the goal of achieving a more inclusive environment for everyone. Manage a $10 mil budget with 250 staff. Candidates should have direct experience in leadership development, strategic and financial planning, staff attraction and retention and fundraising. She/he will be an innovative thinker and creative problem solver with a collaborative approach.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or extensive applicable experience
  • At least 5 years of management experience, ideally with increasing responsibility
  • Heart for the industry, our staff, and consumers
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with disability communities is preferred but not required
  • Inspirational leadership style and skills that develop individual, team, and organizational capacity and create positive morale
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust and credibility within and outside the organization
  • Ability to engage with clients professionally and compassionately
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and experience working with underrepresented and marginalized communities
  • Familiarity with program planning, implementation, reporting, and evaluation
  • Excellent organizational and operational skills, with experience overseeing fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and audits
  • A highly collaborative approach to leadership
  • Fundraising experience with individuals and corporate partners. The ability to build alliances and partnerships with other organizations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to serve as an effective spokesperson
