Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP welcomes Beth Copeland and Abaigeal Musser as attorneys in its growing Litigation practice group. Both Copeland and Musser join Taft in its Indianapolis office.

Copeland brings extensive knowledge in diverse litigation matters to the firm. She has defended several types of constitutional challenges, ranging from first, fourth, eighth and fourteenth amendment violations to claims under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act and Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967. In addition, Copeland has significant experience representing municipalities, municipal employees and elected officials in both state and federal courts. She has advised clients in public negotiations, eminent domain issues, proposed legislation and transactional matters. She has served as lead counsel on several cases and has successfully briefed and presented oral arguments to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, Indiana Supreme Court and Indiana Court of Appeals.

Prior to joining Taft, Copeland served as Corporation Counsel for the City of Kokomo and was the former Chief Litigation Counsel for the City of Indianapolis. Copeland earned her law degree from Valparaiso University and her bachelor’s degree from Rockhurst University.

Musser focuses her practice on a wide variety of commercial and general litigation matters. Since beginning her practice, Musser has represented clients in both state and federal matters, as well as presented oral argument before the Indiana Court of Appeals.

Musser earned her law degree from the SMU Dedman School of Law, where she was the Assistant Managing Editor for the International Law Review Association and served as judicial intern to the Honorable David Horan in the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Texas. An Indianapolis native, Musser earned her bachelor’s degree from Butler University where she was a member of the international women’s fraternity Kappa Alpha Theta and the Alpha Kappa Delta International Honors Fraternity.
