Starfish Initiative is an 18-year-old local organization that inspires, encourages, and pairs academically promising teens facing unearned adversity with college-educated mentors. The mentors of Starfish help their scholars with three core essentials: 1) College readiness and success; 2) Career Exploration; and 3) Character Development. Starfish Initiative has a proven track record of helping promising students overcome barriers. The scholars move toward achieving economic mobility, developing cultural capacity, and developing leadership skills necessary to prepare for personnel and academic success.
The Zotec Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Zotec Partners, provided grants to Indiana nonprofits serving youth. The foundation provided 20 grants totaling $25,000 each to organizations focused on mentoring, healthy outcomes, and information technology education and training.
“Our philanthropic partnerships with these remarkable organizations go directly to helping youth
realize their fullest potentials,” said T. Scott Law, chairman of the Zotec Foundation and founder and CEO of Zotec Partners. “Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders—and creating strong connections and ties to the community leads to brighter futures. We’re proud to support these civic champions, providing resources, opportunities, and encouragement for young people across the state.”
“Preparing Hoosier youth for successful futures is what the people of Zotec are passionate about, and the value of these grants goes beyond dollars donated into meaningful and long-term partnerships,” said Amy Waldron, director of foundation and corporate impact for Zotec. “Our charitable partners can count on us to collaborate in their missions through holistic solutions and resource-sharing, resulting in a positive and enduring impact.”
Starfish Initiative appreciates the tremendous gift and support of Zotec. Partners
