At George Washington High School, we have just begun our second year of implementing the vision of IPS to reinvent its high schools. Each IPS high school is now a career academy, and students can choose which high school they will attend based on their career pathway selection. At George Washington, we are home to the Information Technology Academy, the Business and Finance Academy, and the Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, and Logistics Academy.
We highly value our partnerships with professionals in these industries and also those who relate to these careers in some way. The advice and assistance of our partners allow us to create clear pathways to a positive future for our students.
With this in mind, we need your help. We are excited to announce that, on October 10, 2019, we will hold our second George Washington Career Day Experience. We are seeking professionals like you to choose one of two options to engage with our students. First, you will deliver two presentations in two separate classrooms using the Junior Achievement Speaker Series material. Each presentation will be followed by an interactive activity facilitated by the teacher and allow you to interact with students more informally and individually. Second, you may choose to conduct mock interviews with our students. If you choose this option, you will be provided with interview questions and rubric materials by EmployIndy.
The links below provide details and allow you to make appropriate selections. Please feel free to send this message to others you know would like to help. We look forward to utilizing your skills and expertise as we work together to develop tomorrow’s workforce here in Indianapolis!
Please register by September 26, 2019!
