Joel Tragesser succeeds Lucy Dollens, who has led the office since 2017. Dollens, who will continue her commercial litigation practice, joined the firm’s executive committee in December.

“We are thrilled that Joel will be the new Indianapolis office managing partner,” said Mike Aldana, managing partner of Quarles & Brady. “He is a terrific lawyer and great ambassador for the firm and the office. We’re confident he’ll do a great job of continuing the significant momentum Lucy and the Indianapolis team have established.”

Tragesser is a founding partner of the Indianapolis office and practices in the areas of trademark law and brand management, intellectual property licensing, and business & intellectual property litigation. He represents clients in state and federal courts and often speaks on the interrelation of technology and intellectual property. Tragesser holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wabash College and a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School.

“I am honored to be chosen to lead such a great group of attorneys and staff and I look forward to working closely with them to grow Quarles & Brady in the Indianapolis community,” said Tragesser. “I want to extend my thanks and gratitude to Lucy for her leadership in the Indianapolis office. She has done an excellent job and displayed a fine example of how to successfully lead a team through creative solutions with an open and collaborative approach.”

Tragesser has been listed in Chambers USA®, Indiana Super Lawyers® and the World Trademark Review 1000. He participates in several Indianapolis civic organizations, including serving as a board member of Colby and Cate Charities Inc., the American Lung Association in Indiana and Sports Circle Indy.
