Dog Daycare, Boarding and Spa Facility to Open its Doors on November 25
INDIANAPOLIS (Nov. 25, 2019) – Dogtopia, the nation’s leading dog daycare, boarding and spa facility, is opening a new location in Indianapolis on Nov 25. Situated at 9445 N. Meridian St., this location marks the first Dogtopia in Indiana.
Dogtopia of Meridian North is owned by Morgan Bissell, Brandon Bissell and Adam Bissell of 5THGEN LLC, who own Dogtopia locations throughout the Midwest. The new location will be operated by General Manager Alaina Holcomb, who has 17 years of experience in the dog world – from cleaning kennels to designing, developing and running her own facility in the past. Graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Animal Science, Holcomb has gained experience as a veterinarian tech, dog trainer and behavior consultant throughout her career. After discovering Dogtopia, Holcomb was inspired to change her initial career path.
“What really sealed the deal for me was that Dogtopia had a purpose, a noble cause to ‘enhance the joy of dog parenthood and enable dogs to positively change our world,’” said Holcomb. “My team and I know we are coming to work each day for a purpose that’s beyond profit.”
Dogtopia enhances the joy of pet parenthood by offering personalized care for Indianapolis pups in a fun, safe and comfortable environment and sets the industry standard among dog daycares with its three key benefits: socialization, education and exercise. To foster complete transparency, pet parents are walked through a detailed facility tour while their furry children are evaluated for Dogtopia’s open-play environment. Dogtopia employs webcam technology in each playroom that allows pet parents to check on their pups from anywhere.
Community pups will enjoy an open layout where each playroom offers fun for dogs of similar size and temperament. Each playroom has compressed rubber flooring to ease joints, prevent slipping and promote safer play, as well as updated powerful HVAC systems with in-duct UV lighting that funnels air out of the building to ensure clean, fresh air while reducing airborne pathogens. Every area is cleaned routinely and solely with dog-safe products.
“The level of processes found at Dogtopia are very impressive. Everything from our pet safe cleaning program designed by Dogtopia’s environmental biologist, to the canine behavior education programs developed by Dogtopia’s certified dog behaviorist, keeps the dog’s health and safety first in mind,” said Holcomb. “All members of our team must complete a minimum of 40 hours of training before they manage a playroom on their own, which is rare to find anywhere else.”
In addition to providing quality care in a healthy, safe and fun environment for local pups, Dogtopia launched the Dogtopia Foundation with the noble cause to enable dogs to positively change our world. The Foundation funds programs focused around three worthy causes: Services Dogs for Veterans, Youth Literacy Programs and Employment Initiatives for Adults with Autism. One hundred percent of funds raised are donated directly to supported organizations. To learn more, visit www.dogtopiafoundation.org.
